Japan: JP-MIRAI plans to expand countries covered by framework to reduce burden on technical intern trainees

A general incorporated association, JP-MIRAI, has begun arrangements to expand the number of countries covered under a framework which aims to reduce the burden on foreign technical intern trainees. The new countries include several Asian countries such as Indonesia and Nepal. The main pillar of the framework is for Japanese companies to cover the recruitment fees that trainees pay when they come to Japan.

The framework will certify job offers that comply with the guideline that includes not requiring trainees to pay fees. An agreement has already been reached with Vietnam to establish a similar framework.
