Adastria’s response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - October 2024 Update

[...]

As far as we can currently confirm, “Sunrise Myanmar”, the ANHUI XINLIN IMPORT AND EXPORT TRADE (GROUP)CO.,LTD factory that you mentioned, has not outsourced our production to them in the past year. After our sustainability promotion division received your e-mail, we recognized that was a significant issue involving human rights risk, discussing it with our production department. We have already reported it to board members.

Regarding “New Plus”, the same Group factory that was pointed out by you in January 2024, our staff have been visiting this factory once or twice a month to monitor the progress of improvements to the working environment and collaborate with this factory to promote initiatives to reduce human rights risks.

We have taken into consideration the current and previous issues comprehensively. We will pay more attention to human rights risks than before, review the terms of transaction with the ANHUI XINLIN IMPORT AND EXPORT TRADE (GROUP)CO.,LTD, and accordingly reconsider contract with the group in the near future.
