The Y'Hovy village, in the Tekoha Guasu Guavirá Indigenous Land, in western Paraná, was attacked for the third time this year with gunfire. Shots were fired over a field where young people and children were playing football, in the direction of the house of one of the community's leaders, but left no-one injured. In the early evening, more shots and fireworks were also heard and left the indigenous people on alert.

The Avá Guarani have been demanding the demarcation of their original lands for decades. Farmers, ranchers and other segments of society act criminally against the communities.

The community had already been attacked in July and August.
