On the basis of the publication by 'Hetq' investigative journalists, HLIB initiated administrative proceedings against "Sartex" CJSC, 07 October 2022

[Translation prepared by Business and Human Rights Resource Center]

Based on the publication of 'Hetq', the head of Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia initiated administrative proceedings against 'Sartex' CJSC. Erik Astvatsatryan, the head of the department on information, consultation and public relations at the Health and Labor Inspection Body informed us about this. He mentioned that the proceedings were initiated for the violated rights of employees.

"It is very important that during the proceedings the employees keep insisting on everything they have said in the video," he said.

As a reminder, yesterday the employees of 'Sartex' company were striking for the protection of their rights, also demanding not to fire the head of the production- Gevorg Gevorgyan. Some of the employees did not show up for work today.

The Office of the Human Rights Defender informed 'Hetq' that yesterday they received a call from the employees about strike on the occasion of the dismissal of the head of production by the management of 'Sartex', however this issue is beyond the scope of the HRD.
