India: Fairwork India ratings 2022 reveal poor working conditions in platform economy, five companies score 0/10

A recent report titled 'Fairwork India Ratings 2022: Labour Standards in the Platform Economy report' by Fairwork India at IIIT, Bangalore with partners at the University of Oxford reveals that platform economy workers in India are subjected to poor working conditions. The report examines the working conditions of the employees of digital labour platforms in India on the basis of five principles: Fair Pay, Fair Conditions, Fair Contracts, Fair Management and Fair Representation.

Amazon Flex, Dunzo, Ola, PharmEasy and Uber scored zero out of ten across all principles in the report. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited these companies to respond to the low scores. None of them responded.
