Italy: Recruitment agency under investigation & another charged for promising Filipino migrants non-existent jobs & charging extortionate fees

We cannot allow these individuals and companies to get away with their nefarious activities. We urge other victims to come to us so we can help them document and file their case.
Department of Migrant Workers Officer-in-Charge, Hans Leo Cacdac (Philippines).

In October 2023, the Manila Bulletin reported that the Philippines’ Department of Migrant Workers began an investigation into the illegal recruitment of Filipino workers for fake jobs in Italy. The investigation would focus on the Milan-based and Filipino owned recruitment company, Golder Power SRLS.

Workers were allegedly promised jobs in Italy in exchange for extortionate fees (up to EUR 4000).

The Department of Migrant Workers would also support an investigation being conducted in Milan on similar complaints against a Filipino owned Alpha Assistenza, who charged recruitment fees ranging up to EUR 3500 for non-existent jobs.

In November 2023, the National Bureau of Investigation in the Philippines filed criminal charges against Alpha Assistenza.
