New report alleges Airbus' link with AVIC and subsidiaries that supply arms to Myanmar military

A new report by the Justice for Myanmar & Info Birmanie details Airbus' link with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) as investor and partner. AVIC and its subsidiaries, the report alleges, “have been supplying the Myanmar military with various military aircraft and associated arms, and that these transfers have been done in a context in which the Myanmar military is repeatedly committing war crimes and crimes against humanity”. JFM alleges that Airbus “is the second biggest shareholder of AviChina. As such, Airbus has significant influence over AviChina’s strategic business decisions.”

Apart from Airbus and AVIC, companies also cited in the report are AviChina Industry & Technology Company Limited, China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation, Guizhou Aviation Industries Corporation, Harbin Aircraft Industry Group, Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industry Group, Chengdu Aircraft Corporation of China, Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation, and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra.

All the companies were invited by the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre to respond. Only Airbus responded (linked below).
