Police Fire Rubber Bullets At Bangladesh Factory Protesters Demanding Higher Wages

Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas…to disperse thousands of garment workers who blocked streets outside Bangladesh's capital to demand that factory owners raise their minimum wage…At least 50 people were injured in the clashes outside Dhaka, police said….Factory owners are unwilling to increase the wage beyond 3,600 takas ($45), according to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
