Prospective lenders, insurers & export credit agencies withdraw from East African Crude Oil Pipeline due to environmental & social concerns
Banks, insurers and export credit agencies have withdrawn from the East African Crude oil pipeline due to environmental risk and concerns that the project does not meet the Paris Agreement goals on climate change. A commentator has also stated that the project presents Uganda and Tanzanian government with the first major test on their commitment to the Paris Agreement goals.
