Taiwan: Indonesian workers allege wage withholding & mistreatment on You Fu fishing vessel; company denies deliberate delay
In August 2024, ten Indonesian migrant fishers working on the Taiwanese-flagged distant water fishing vessel "You Fu" alleged severe labor rights violations, including 11-15 months of unpaid wages totaling US$80,850, poor living conditions, and verbal abuse. The vessel owner subsequently denied deliberately delaying payments and refuted some of the allegations.
