Ukraine puts Peninsula Petroleum on list of war sponsors over alleged sale of fuel to tankers transporting Russian oil

Ukraine puts Irish company Peninsula Petroleum on list of war sponsors, 23 April 2023

"As long as Russia supports its economy by earning from sea oil exports, Peninsula Petroleum Limited continues to receive excess profits and deliver fuel for ships that transport this Russian oil. Large tankers leave the Russian Federation every day via the Baltic Sea, despite the fact that the European Union imposed an embargo on the import of Russian oil after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine," the press service of the NACP reports.

Ireland-based Peninsula Petroleum is a global bunker fuel supplier, operating more than 25,000 deliveries per year and offering fuel resale services, technical expertise, fleet management and yachting services.

This allows the company to set higher prices when selling fuel to tankers transporting Russian oil.

According to the report, a review of AIS data in the area shows that Peninsula Petroleum supplies large quantities of fuel to tankers bound for or from the terrorist state every week.

At the same time, the company says that the sanctions were never intended to completely cut off Russian oil from the global market as this would raise oil prices and harm the global economy...
