On 4 August 2022, the President of the Cambodian Alliance of Trade Unions (CATU) Yang Sophorn was accused of conduction illegal activities and threatened with unspecified punishment by the Ministry of Labour for supporting the ongoing labour strike of Naga workers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is not the first time the prominent workers organiser faces threats for her labour rights work.
