Myanmar: Garment workers report inadequate COVID-19 safety measures at Guotai Huasheng Glory Fashion garment factory; incl. co. responses

In July 2021, it was reported that Guotai Huasheng Glory Fashion factory was not implementing adequate COVID-19 safety measures in line with official guidelines. Labour activists and unions say some factory owners in Myanmar have taken advantage of the lack of monitoring since the February coup. The factory reportedly produces for LIDL and Carrefour.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited LIDL, Carrefour, Primark, Auchan Retail and Pimkie to respond. The full responses are included below.
