commitments...(2) to develop and apply effective self-regulatory practices and management systems that foster a relationship of confidence and mutual trust between enterprises and the societies in which they operate...(3) to engage in adequate and timely communication and consultation with the communities directly affected by its environmental, health and safety policies...Those “affected” by Vedanta’s activities are the 8,000 Dongria Kondh who live in the Niyamgiri Hills.
