INPEX statement

[...]

To demonstrate its stance on respect for human rights and fulfill its responsibilities, INPEX established and announced the INPEX Group Human Rights Policy in May 2017. In accordance with this policy, we take strict measures to address the human rights of all stakeholders including across supply chains in every country and region in which we conduct business. The INPEX Group’s Human Rights Policy prohibits all forced labor and child labour and conveys the group’s respect for freedom of association and the right to organisation.

INPEX indirectly participates in two oil & gas projects in Russia. We will continue to carefully monitor the geopolitical situation in Ukraine as well as Japanese government policies to be able to take informed and appropriate business decisions. INPEX has never conducted business in Ukraine.

With respect to the inquiry about mitigating risks and tracking effectiveness, INPEX has been conducting human rights due diligence since 2016 as part of its efforts to enhance human rights management. For more details, please refer to the section of our website on Respect for Human Rights.

INPEX has donated approximately 120 million yen—the equivalent to one million US dollars—through the Japanese Red Cross Society for humanitarian assistance to support displaced persons in Ukraine.
