Shimamura's response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - October 2024 Update

[...]

We have reviewed an article in Sunrise(Myanmar)fashion on December 28, 2023. Our Japanese suppliers have investigated and found no evidence of illegal overtime or holiday work since June 2023. The MGMA audit was conducted in December 2023 and the SGS audit in March 2024. In addition, our suppliers in Japan conducted a questionnaire survey on September 19, 2024 through our business partner K.K. to confirm whether there had been any human rights violations, and we have received a report that no such violations had occurred.

We have verified the article on Dishang Kenny Garment.

On February 28, 2024, the Myanmar Labor Law Audit Department conducted an on-site inspection of Dishang Kenny Garment on the same errand as the article content of February 23, 2024. As a result, we issue a certificate that the reality does not match what was published in the web media.

Based on these reports, we recognize that Sunrise(Myanmar)fashion and Dishang Kenny Garment are currently in compliance with laws and regulations and that no human rights issues have arisen.

Shimamura Corporation has received "Shimamura Supplier CoC Compliance Declaration" from all suppliers with whom we do business and will continue to comply with laws and regulations.
