Action taken: Tamulbari recently supplied tea to Unilever, according to a supplier list publicly disclosed by Unilever. Unilever provided a response to a request for comment from the Resource Centre. Lipton Teas and Infusions, which took over most of Unilever’s tea business in 2022, was also asked for a response. Lipton said it does not source tea from the estate.

"Tea plucker injured in leopard attack in Assam's Dibrugarh district"
DIBRUGARH: A labourer of Tamulbari tea estate in the Lahowal area of Dibrugarh district was injured after being attacked by a leopard while she was plucking leaves on Wednesday morning.
Minu Majhi sustained several deep wounds and was admitted to Assam Medical College and Hospital.
She said, "I was plucking tea leaves when the leopard leaped on me from behind a fallen tree. I turned my head and the claws of the leopard hit me on my back below my neck. There were four deep injuries. I was a little away from the rest of my co-workers who were also plucking tea leaves. No one else was attacked. The leopard disappeared among the tea bushes after that."
