Un Tribunal de Ecuador rechaza impedir el fallo contra la petrolera Chevron

La Corte de…Sucumbíos rechazó el pedido…para que Ecuador impida la ejecución del fallo de dos cortes nacionales que condenan a la petrolera Chevron…por daños en la Amazonía…emitido por un panel…de un Tribunal de arbitraje, que según Chevron pertenece a La Haya...Chevron llevó el caso al Tribunal de La Haya en base al Tratado Bilateral de Inversiones entre Quito y Washington, y esa corte arbitral ya obligó en 20011 a Ecuador a detener la ejecución de la sentencia hasta nueva decisión...Pablo Fajardo, uno de los abogados de los demandantes ha dicho…que la orden de impedir la aplicación del fallo provino de un tribunal...que "no tiene nada que ver con la Corte de Arbitraje de La Haya". En el fallo de la Corte de Sucumbíos…se señala…que Ecuador no puede dejar de respetar los derechos humanos…[Esta] Corte provincial…ha trasladado el caso a la Corte Nacional de Justicia...James Craig…de Chevron…ha dicho…que la petrolera espera que Ecuador respete el laudo de los expertos internacionales...
