USA: Investigation finds unsafe working conditions, negligible training & discriminatory treatment for migrant contract workers behind operations at "resilient" farm AppHarvest

Workers for self-marketed climate-resilient and "sustainable" farm company AppHarvest reported serious occupational health and safety breaches at work as well as unfair treatment for migrant contractors, according to an investigation by Grist. Workers also said they were not trained properly for their roles and were told they had to work overtime to hit targets. Contracted workers were housed in allegedly cramped accommodation and suffered worse working conditions. The company declared itself bankrupt in July 2023.
