Worker dies in accident involving two trucks at worksite in Mandai

A truck driver died on March 9 afternoon after being involved in an accident involving two trucks at a worksite near the Singapore Zoo in Mandai.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said the accident occurred at a worksite along Mandai Lake Road. The driver, a 44-year-old Chinese national, was observing the off-loading of a mini-excavator he was transporting when his truck started to move forward.

He then tried to re-enter the truck cabin and was pinned between his truck and a stationary concrete mixer truck.

This occurred at around 11.30am and the worker, employed by Samkang Construction, was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where he subsequently died from his injuries...

The occupier of the worksite is the Singapore branch of China Jingye Engineering and the developer is Mandai Park Development, added the ministry...

Responding to queries, a Mandai Wildlife Group spokesperson said: “We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. All parties involved are offering them the necessary support during this difficult time.”...
