Australia: Report alleges international students encounter deceptive & exploitative conduct on unregulated online share-house platforms

A recent report published by the Migrant Worker Justice Initiative alleges that international students who found their share house through online platforms, including Flatmates.com.au and Gumtree, reported deception, overcharging, excessive demands for money upfront and poor living conditions.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Flatmates.com.au and Gumtree to respond to the allegations. Flatmates.com.au's response is linked below. Gumtree did not respond.
