[...] with regard to what was reported in the Guardian article of 22 July 2023, relating to the tragic event that occurred on the evening of Tuesday 18 July at the lodgings camp of Brescia – Verona railway line, Cepav due informs that an employee of a subcontractor was found lifeless in his private lodging, outside of his working time ended before 6.00 p.m. Workers’ accommodation are personal and equipped with air conditioning and private toilet.

Cepav due immediately expressed its closeness and condolences to the family for the tragic event.

We inform you that the rigorous management system of workers' health and safety adopted by Cepav due and by all the companies involved in the execution of the works allows us to devote the utmost attention to this issue.

In order to protect workers, Cepav due and all the companies put in place and constantly update all the necessary preventive and protective measures related to Health and Safety, including the risk management due to high temperatures and heat strokes. [...]
