'Contractor dies in fatal accident', 25 Jun 2015: An accident which occurred…at Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana has resulted in the death of a contractor engaged in mining activities. A statement from the company express[ed]…condolences to the family of the deceased…[and said] that the company will be launching an investigation into the incident. “The incident was immediately reported to the relevant regulatory authorities who have conducted an initial inspection and have given clearance for work to resume. A full internal investigation into this incident is underway and a comprehensive review of both the mine and the contractor’s operating and health and safety procedures is also being conducted," the statement said.
