Myanmar: Garment factory reportedly forces workers to work overnight shifts under poor working conditions or face bonus cuts; incl. co. response
In October 2022, it was reported that workers at the Wi Ye Garment factory were facing a series of violations, including denial of employment contracts, mandatory overtime, insufficient meals for workers working overnight shifts, poor ventilation for workers sleeping in the factory during overnight shifts, workers' bonuses reduced if they return home early from the night shift, limited toilets and water facilities, workers refused access to toilets or water between 8am-10am, reduced pay if workers take sick leave, and low wages.
In January 2023, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Calliope to respond. It did not.
