Aldi Süd response to Oxfam's analysis of supermarket HRIAs and commitments

The ALDI SOUTH Group continue to be committed to delivering HRIAs as they help us understand how sourcing activities could potentially have a negative impact on rights holders and their communities. Since 2021, we have conducted four further HRIAs: Shrimp from India, Coffee from Vietnam, and Household textiles from India, all of which will be published online during 2024. ALDI also supported a multi-stakeholder HRIA led by ETI and the Fair Wear Foundation on garment textile sourcing from Myanmar in 2022. We have also conducted field visits (in collaboration with our suppliers) to increase our understanding of the work they are doing to address the impacts identified in the reports. These activities allow us to establish and implement action plans and we are pleased to see that the recommendations that Oxfam have made in the report are aligned with our own approach. We will continue to review and improve our approach to conducting the HRIAs and continue to share them publicly. ALDI is also well on the way to meet its commitment to conduct and publish 12 HRIAs by December 2025.
