Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is issuing what amounts to an administrative subpoena on the Tyson Foods plant in Logansport, a small Indiana city that's become a talking point in the national immigration debate, seeking information related to "human labor trafficking and indecent nuisances." Longtime residents of Logansport have noticed a greater number of immigrants in their community in recent years, particularly from Haiti, as evidenced by the growth in enrollment at the local school corporation... That's placed Logansport in a similar spotlight as Springfield, Ohio, after former President Donald Trump made derogatory remarks on the debate stage about the town's immigrants....

In a news release, Rokita said companies shouldn't "incentivize criminal behavior" by "offering cheap labor."... Tyson has until Dec. 4 to reply to Rokita's demands. The company told IndyStar it is complying with Rokita's request in order to demonstrate that it follows labor laws.
