Batelco since...the beginning of the period of unrest...has been communicating with its employees...to encourage employees to attend work, maintain good relationships with their colleagues and to be aware of using the company’s assets in the proper manner for which they were intended. It is unfortunate that some of our employees were in breach of the company’s policies and the labour law. The reasons for the disciplinary action that was taken were various but mainly included absence without valid reasons and misuse of company assets. The company...arranged for an Appeal Committee formed on 29th May 2011 to review the cases of the terminated employees and communicated it to them. It is unfortunate that only 21 of the total terminated employees attended these appeal sessions. The company reverted 5 cases after finding that there were valid reasons for these cases. We strongly believe that we have followed the company policies and the labour law without prejudice against any person for his or her political views.
