CCR [Center for Constitutional Rights] filed an amicus brief [in 2001] in support of an effort to reinstate a lawsuit in the United States against Union Carbide [now owned by Dow Chemical], who has evaded responsibility for seventeen years since a massive toxic gas leak in Bhopal, India killed over 8000 people.
