On 10 August 2022, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Buddi Limited to respond to concerns relating to Buddi Limited’s sale of facial recognition smartwatches to the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice of the Government of the United Kingdom to monitor foreign offenders in the United Kingdom and the potential detrimental impact on the privacy and human rights of migrants. In addition, we ask about any measures Buddi Limited has taken to assess and address these risks. The company did not respond.
