The Cambodian authorities have not slowed down their efforts to fight trafficking, detention, online gambling and other crimes, Gen Sopheak said.

“We accept all complaints from victims and their relatives who have requested the assistance of the Cambodian authorities to intervene and save victims from human and sex trafficking and other crimes.

“We have provided hotline numbers, the internet and social media to make it easier for victims to seek emergency assistance. We usually receive between two or three complaints a day from victims,” he said.

The Cambodian authorities are pleased to cooperate with all foreign authorities and development partners to crack down on these illegal crimes and the authorities have never pardoned perpetrators who involved in human trafficking cases, he said…

Gen Sopheak claimed that the information reported by the BBC News in the past did not reflect the real situation because the Cambodian authorities are trying to eliminate human trafficking cases as much as possible.
