Chuck E Cheese (part of CEC Entertainment) non-response to allegations of migrant worker exploitation in Saudi Arabia and the UAE

The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Chuck E Cheese (part of CEC Entertainment) to respond to allegations published by the Guardian newspaper and impacting workers at Chuck E Cheese franchisees in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates

We invited Chuck E Cheese (part of CEC Entertainment) to include information on:

  • How Chuck E Cheese policies and standards on the treatment of workers are implemented at the national and franchisee level in the countries mentioned;
  • How working conditions are monitored at the national and franchisee level; and
  • Any steps the brand is or has already taken to remediate abuses described, including what form of remediation is/ has been offered.

The company did not respond to the Resource Centre's request for comment.
