...What are our priorities for a stronger Treaty?

At its essence, this Treaty is meant to address gaps in corporate accountability and ensure legal liability for human rights abuses. Additionally, the Treaty should also continue addressing State obligations to fulfil as primary duty bearers required to respect, protect, and fulfil human rights, including the right to self-determination, the right to a healthy environment, and workers’ rights. We want a stronger Treaty addressing corporate and especially State obligations when it comes to business-related human rights abuses and/or violations.
