Feminists for a Binding Treaty release position paper on gender-responsive recommendations for the Draft Text

"Key recommendations from the Feminists for a Binding Treaty", 24 Oct 2023

The Feminists for a Binding Treaty (F4BT) will join discussions at Geneva this week on a Binding Treaty to regulate corporate impacts on human rights. In order to account for the gendered and differential impact of business activities on human rights, the legal framework and drafting process must put women, gender-diverse people and communities at the centre of decision-making. With this being the UN Working Group's 9th session developing the draft treaty, F4BT calls for a feminist lens to be applied to the language and provisions of the treaty. Read our position paper for our key recommendations on a gender-responsive, inclusive and effective human rights framework that protects people from corporate abuse.
