Fiji: Proposed hotel at mangrove reserve raises concerns about lack of community consultation & impact assessment; harm to livelihood & biodiversity

A media report raises concerns about Tian Lun Investment Ltd.'s proposed hotel project to be built on a mangrove reserve at Leveti Creek in Nasese, Fiji. The report alleges that (1) the project will adversely affect the biodiversity of the area and will pose a negative impact on people’s livelihood, and (2) no community consultation was conducted and that no environment assessment had been completed for the project.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Tian Lun to respond to the allegations. The company did not respond.
