India: Owners of textile factory where two workers burned to death charged with negligence

Two workers were charred to death, while three were injured when a short circuit sparked off a fire in a textile factory at Balana village of Israna town in Panipat district on Thursday night.

Following the statement of Sumit’s father-in-law Ranbir, a case was registered against the owners of Shiv Fabricate Private Limited under charges of causing death by negligence.

Ranbir told police that his son-in-law used to narrate about the old machinery at the factory due to which chances of a short circuit loomed large and unit being a cotton factory, a fire would spread instantly ...

The case was lodged against [owners] Mohit and Amit, both brothers and natives of Panipat city, under Section 106 of the BNS at Israna police station.
