India: Prominent rights activist's social media account blocked after alleged call for protests
An article reported that activist Aakar Patel’s Twitter account was suspended after “allegedly suggesting that marginalised groups of Indians should emulate the protests currently on in the United States against the police’s killing of an African American man named George Floyd.” Reports further allege that his account was blocked at the behest of the Indian government.
Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Twitter to respond to the allegations. It did not.
