시행된 조치: Linglong company on Wednesday said that it “does not employ and has never employed workers from India” and that the contract with CEEG was terminated in September 2022. Journalists could not contact LYQ. MAN Truck & Bus told journalists it has been following the reports and has stopped all delivery requests since November. Volkswagen said to journalists it is seeking to “clarify the facts”. The Resource reached out to all alleged buyers who had not been reached for comment by journalists, all who responded.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Zrenjanin, Serbia, has started investigating a complaint made by a human trafficking NGO, ASTRA, about possible human trafficking of workers from India hired by the Serbian branch of the construction company China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction, CEEG.
CEEG is a subcontractor of Chinese tire giant Linglong at whose construction site citizens from India were working.

ASTRA, an organisation dealing with human trafficking and labor exploitation, made a complaint seeking the urgent reaction of institutions, claiming that there are serious indications of “human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation” of Indian citizens.
