Amid ongoing reports of widespread and systemic abuse of Bangladeshi migrant workers recruited to work in Malayisa, four UN Special Rapporteurs and members of the Working Group on business and human rights have called on Malaysia to take "urgent measures to address the dire humanitarian situation of migrants and protect them from exploitation, criminalisation and other human rights abuses."

The Resource Centre has requested responses from several domestic and multi-national companies in Malaysia regarding alleged abuse of migrant workers in supply chains over the past year. These can be seen here.

In May, it was reported the Malaysian Government responded to the UN Experts' letter.
