MVV responds
This is an unofficial translation by the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre.
For our company, in addition to environmental and climate protection, health protection and compliance with labour regulations and human rights have top priority in all business activities. For this reason, we have always committed ourselves to the provisions of applicable laws and regulations as well as to the requirements of authoritative international organisations such as the United Nations, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), including the UN Global Compact. For the entire supply chain, we continuously follow up on any indications of violations in our own Group-wide task force. It goes without saying that we intensively check all information known to us in this context. We impose clear purchasing conditions on all our suppliers, obliging them to comply with sustainability, environmental and climate protection and human rights in particular. In the event that these obligations are violated, we impose contractual sanctions ranging from contractual penalties and compensation to termination of the contract.
