Myanmar: Garment workers at Jun Sheng factory report verbal abuse & harassment, unsafe working conditions & health issues caused by overtime work; incl. co. response
In February 2023, it was reported that workers at Jun Sheng garment factory were facing a series of violations, including denial of legal benefits, mandatory overtime, excessive production targets, workers forced to work overnight if they do not meet their targets without a break, health issues caused by overtime work, verbal abuse and harassment from supervisors and line leaders, and poor health & safety incl. no emergency exits, no medical room, no dining area, and unsanitary toilets. Workers also reported having their wages cut if they missed work, incl. sick leave, and workers on daily contracts denied permanent contracts.
