Myanmar: Over 100 day labourers hired & rehired to avoid permanent worker status; incl. co. responses

In October 2023, it was reported that over 100 day labourers hired at Sen Yu garment factory were fired after three months of work then rehired so they do not receive the rights of permanent workers. It was also reported that some workers had been dismissed before they were entitled to severance pay. Some workers are fired for reasons such as lack of orders, for not listening to the supervisors, and refusal to work overtime. Workers also reported inadequate transport for workers and the installation of CCTV near the toilets.
