...At the end of 2018, we conducted a trial in three warehouses to determine whether the use of exoskeletons can reduce back pain and injuries caused due to incorrect or heavy lifting of weights. Approximately 100 colleagues participated in this voluntary experiment after providing their written consent to participate. To evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of these exoskeletons we collaborated with StrongArm Technologies Inc. We used a StrongArm device to capture movement and derive the likelihood of a physical injury. The sensors did not collect biometric information and do not have GPS built in to track worker location. We obtained useful insights from this technology to help understand the underlying contributing factors to the risk of developing back pain over time.
