Response from Auxico Resources on tin and coltan mining in Vichada

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to a question from the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre about the alleged negative impacts of our proposed Mynastic project on the indigenous peoples of Vichada, Colombia.

By way of background, Mynastic owns the mining and surface rights to the Mynastic Property, located near the municipality of Puerto Carreño in Vichada Province, along with a mining permit granted by the Colombian National Mining Agency (ANM). Auxico is now in the process of formally purchasing the Mynastic Property and is awaiting approval of the environmental licence to begin work on the project. We have not yet started an actual operation....

Separate meetings were held with Mr. Wilson Riveros, a potential candidate for Governor of Guacamayas, and Ms. Rosa Medina, a member of the traditional authorities of the Guacamayas Maiporé indigenous resguardo in the municipality of Puerto Carreño.
