Violations of federal law “On Environmental Protection” detected at Lovozersky GOK, January 31, 2019
During inspection, the Murmansk Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office established that Lovozersky Mining and Processing Plant LLC exploits sources of air pollution in order to implement its statutory activities.

In violation of Art. 34 Federal Laws of January 10, 2002 No. 7-FZ “On Environmental Protection” and Art. 12 of the law dated 04.05.1999 No. 96-FZ “On the protection of atmospheric air”, paragraph 9 of the Government of the Russian Federation of 02.03.2000 No. 183 “On standards for emissions of harmful (pollutant) substances into the atmospheric air and harmful physical effects on it” LLC “ Lovozersky GOK”, in the presence of sources that emit harmful chemicals into the atmospheric air, has not ensured approval of the draft maximum permissible emissions into the atmospheric air in the territorial body of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources.

Based on the violations identified, the environmental prosecutor initiated an administrative case against an official of the company under Art. 8.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which was sent for consideration to the Office of Rosprirodnadzor for the Murmansk Region.
