Trafigura's response

1. Has your company completed its withdrawal from Myanmar? Can you briefly describe the nature, sector, scale, and geographic area of any of your remaining business operations or investments in Myanmar?

Trafigura has no operations or investments in Myanmar and has not supplied products into the country since February 2021.

Puma Energy has fully completed its withdrawal from Myanmar. Please refer to Puma Energy’s statement here.

2. In the process of your company’s withdrawal:

a. What have been the key considerations informing this decision and did you consult with your workers and/or other affected stakeholders as part of your decision-making process?

b. What are the immediate and longer-term steps that your company has taken or is prepared to take to mitigate any negative impacts of your exit on affected communities and your workers, including addressing any loss of income?

Prior to existing the country Puma Energy’s key considerations were the need to protect the safety and security of employees and to mitigate potential human rights risks in Myanmar. We have not sold or distributed any fuel of products to the Myanmar Air Force since January 2021 and following the coup the NEPAS joint venture took steps to limit its supply to civilian aviation customers only, at Puma Energy’s insistence.

Prior to leaving the country in 2022, Puma Energy commissioned an independent Human Rights Assessment which included affected employees and stakeholders. The decision Puma Energy’s Board took to leave Myanmar was guided by this assessment.

3. If your company, subsidiary, or affiliate chooses to continue operating in Myanmar, what human rights due diligence has been undertaken and how are you planning to mitigate harm in Myanmar in your operations?

Trafigura, its subsidiaries and affiliates have no operations in Myanmar.

4. What kind of due diligence measures does your company use to ensure that it does not have any business relationships with the Myanmar junta?

Trafigura, its subsidiaries and affiliates have no operations in Myanmar.
