Ecuador: Communities request Environmental Impact Study and Environmental Management Plan INV Metal´s Loma Larga Mining Project

The communities in resistance against mining project by INV Metals in Cuenca, Ecuador request the company provide them with the “Environmental Impact Study and Environmental Management Plan of the Loma Larga Mining Project under the Large Mining Regime for the Exploitation and Benefit Phases”, in addition to the studies listed in the attached document of the Open Letter to INV Metals, so that are independently reviewed by the communities´ professionals. The communities see this as a basic right that they should be afforded as members of the communities who will be affected by the impacts of this project, were it to go through.

The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre contacted INV Metals to respond; the company did not respond.
