"Strike at factory which 'supplies major brands'", 12 November 2020

More than 800 women garment workers have gone on strike - claiming they are being paid less than the minimum wage - at a garment manufacturer in India which supplies leading brands including H&M.

The women work for a factory, near the town of Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, owned by Indian Designs Exports Private Ltd which claims to employ more than 15,000 workers at 14 factories.

However, they have gone on indefinite strike claiming they are being paid as little as 6,000 rupees (US$80) per month and face harassment by their managers in exploitative working conditions...
