"Workers at Sanyuan over sea 1 garment factory forced to work overtime without payment"
At the Sanyuan over sea 1 garment factory, which is often visited by members of the Yangon Region government, factory workers said they were forced to work overtime and were not paid wages. A garment worker said that the factory is owned by a Chinese national and operates on Minsiddhi Kyawwa Road in Yangon's Nyon Dagon Industrial Zone with a workforce of about 2,500.
"...the supervisor...asked workers to work overtime at night and don't pay," said a garment worker.
Factory officials continued to say that the number of forced workers to go unpaid has increased since the military coup. If they work longer at night, workers who are away from home... have to sleep in the same factory...

The workers said that even if the Brand inspects, they will have to answer according to the instructions of the factory, so they will not be allowed to complain about the violations. "When inspectors from the brand came to check, they were able to answer as told by HR. If you don't answer, you will be identified, and the supers will scold you. Because they are afraid, they don't dare to talk about what the workers are suffering at the factory," the workers said.
The Sanyuan over sea 1 garment factory was established with foreign investment and the owner is Chinese. Mango, STRADIVARIUS, Adidas are reportedly sourcing from the factory. The workers said that they are sewing about 8 brands, including world-famous brands such as Piazza Italia...
