Peter Hahn's Response
"Peter Hahn’s response to the alleged wage violations at Royal Knitting factory", 26 March 2021
Thank you for your recent communication concerning the Royal Knitting factory in Mao Sot, Thailand.
We take this incident very seriously. We are passionate about ensuring fair employment conditions at all our suppliers. This behaviour does not correspond in any way to our protocols for business conduct. Neither does it correspond with our understanding of a business relationship, nor the correct treatment of employees/people.
Peter Hahn produces high-quality apparel products. The protection of the environment and respect of human rights are our top priorities, both at Peter Hahn and along the supply chain.
The well-being of the workers in the supply chain is fundamental to Peter Hahn, which we also express through our membership of amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), which is the world’s largest social standards initiative. We are also committed to the BSCI Code of Conduct.
We officially ended our business relationship with Royal Knitting factory back in 2017, long before the Corona crisis. Of course, we strongly condemn their behaviour and express our deepest sympathy to all employees. However, it would be inappropriate to comment specifically on an ongoing legal case.
