Response of Ranbaxy to concerns regarding impact on groundwater of facility in Toansa, Punjab, India

...[The] Punjab Pollution Control Board is still in the process of conducting its study and it is therefore, premature to arrive at any conclusion...Ranbaxy’s manufacturing facility had an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in place since its inception in 1986... There is a robust ‘performance monitoring’ system in place to ensure total compliance. Over the years, Ranbaxy has invested substantially in the protection of the environment through up-gradation of its Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) by incorporating the latest state-of-the-art effluent recycling system.
